February 16: LOOK UP!

“And the Lord said . . . ‘Lift your eyes NOW and look from the place where you are . . .'” (Genesis 13:14)

1. Today I will live in the now! I will live in the now because I have the ability to lift up my eyes and look beyond the limitations of my present circumstances. By faith I am able today to observe the unseen things of the spirit realm that are eternal, rather than just the seen things of the visible world that are temporal. I will use my spiritual eyes today to determine what is my reality.

2. Today I will have the courage to be optimistic . . . a nonconformist to the negative majority of people around me. I will exhibit my individuality simply by not going along with the defeatist conversation that I hear. I will not cooperate with those who wallow in doubt and unbelief, even if I make myself unpopular with them.

3. Today I will find my direction through my God-inspired vision, rather than by my natural education. I will allow myself to be led by the
Spirit . . . to be “other-worldly” . . . to have the nerve to express my convictions. I will look up, and look beyond the boundaries of my natural mind to “count the stars” as Abraham did.

4. Today I will have the confidence to look beyond my own perceived weaknesses, and begin to see them as strengths – for in my weakness He is made strong! I consider myself today to be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might, to the point that I am able to “glory” in my weaknesses and infirmities.

5. Today I have faith . . . today I trust God and have my assurance in Him, which results in my own self-assurance and confidence. Because I can look up, I will maintain a spirit of bravery, valor, and boldness to overcome. I can defy danger because I see from my heart instead of from my head. I will have the audacity to keep going when everyone else says I should quit!

6. Today I will look to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith. My spirit will be His candle, and His Word will be a lamp for my feet (in the immediate), and a light for my path (for my destiny). I look to His Word for direction.

7. Today I will not be afraid of any bad news, for my heart is established and fixed. I will be peaceful in the midst of the storm . . . calm, relaxed, stress-free, and centered, because I can see past the chaos. I see the Lord, today, high and lifted up, with His train filling the temple. I “look and live” today, and today I will live in the now!

Father, help me remember to look up today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
