January 4: ONLY BELIEVE!

“As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue,

‘Do not be afraid; ONLY believe.'” (Mark 5:36)

1. Today I will live in the now! I will live in the now because I hear the voice of Jesus speak to my inner man the words that He spoke to Jairus, and I will obey those words. I will not be afraid today, but I will ONLY believe. God has not given me a spirit of fear, and my faith in the now will be enough to put me over, no matter what happens.

2. Today I will not be devastated by any bad news, or negative report that I may hear. I will not overreact, because my heart is established and I walk in the illogical peace that passes understanding. I will believe the report of the Lord. I will overcome all obstacles to my faith by His word spoken to my heart.

3. Today I will prevail over my emotions, and will conduct myself according to what I believe rather than by what I feel. I will resist the temptation to be anxious or fretful. I will not waste my time worrying, because the Lord, my Shepherd, will make me to lie down in green pastures, and lead me beside still waters. He will restore my soul.

4. Today I will be calm and steady in my mind. The circumstances around me will not distract me. I will focus on what God is doing in the now, and in the now I will find my confidence. I will rise to the occasion today. I will accomplish my goals for today. I will win!

5. Today my words will reflect that I ONLY believe. I know that I cannot believe and doubt at the same time, any more than I can travel north and south simultaneously. My words will be words of faith, victory and success today. My tongue, like the rudder on a ship, will guide me through dangerous waters into safety all day long. I will have what I say.

6. Today I will avoid negative people and their influence as much as possible. I will not believe the words of those who do not ONLY believe. I will attract faith-filled and positive individuals who will inspire me to continue to believe, and will confirm the truth on which I stand. Our speech together will be seasoned with salt.

7. Today I will understand what the word ONLY means in a whole new way. Because I declare the end from the beginning, I call this day a good day even before I live it. I will not dilute my pure faith with compromise. I will be radical in my ability to believe, and things will change in my life for the better because of it. Today I am fearless! Today I will ONLY believe, and today I will live in the now!

Father, help me to ONLY believe today. In Jesus’ name, amen.

August 3: ‘NUFF SAID

nuff-said

“. . . but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind . . .” (Philippians 3:13)

“To everything there is a season . . . a time to keep silence . . .” (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 7)

1. Today I will live in the now! I will live in the now because I am breaking the ties with my past by ceasing to speak of things that are over and done with. My conversation today will be in the now . . . what God is doing NOW . . . where I am on my journey NOW . . . the truth and revelation that I am walking in NOW!

2. Today I will stop bringing up incidents that remind me of the offenses of the past. I will release myself from the hurt and pain caused by others by forgiving them – everyone who has wronged me, whether they have asked for my forgiveness or not. What’s done is done, and there is no point in my continuing to speak of negative things that are only going to bring oppression into my life. By forgiving others, even my enemies, I break any power or control that they may have over me emotionally or spiritually.

3. Today I will stop advertising for my weaknesses and failures. I will be real, humble and transparent. I will even admit when I am wrong and apologize when necessary, but I will not continue to harp on negative things that I have done or said that cause me to blame myself and bring my mind under a cloud of self-condemnation. If Jesus is faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness, then I will have the good taste to honor His justification by shutting up about my shortcomings!

4. Today I will break any familiar patterns of negative conversation that I am apt to fall into with those who are close to me. I will address the issue head on, for my own good, as well as for the good of the person to whom I am speaking.

5. Today I will stop letting down my ethical defenses and allowing myself to fall into gossip, verbally judging others or speaking things that will snare me and cause trouble in my life. I am responsible for what I say, so I will use my Holy Spirit-produced fruit of self-control to help me stop and think before I speak. I will walk away from the temptation to engage in idle, non-productive talk with others, and I will finish up every conversation today with no feeling of regret and no fear that my words are going to come back to haunt me.

6. Today I will be sensitive to the voice of the Spirit when He tells me to be quiet.

7. Today I will speak words that are like apples of gold in settings of silver, and today I will live in the now!

Father, help me to know when I’ve said enough today. In Jesus’ name, amen.

March 28: EXPRESS YOURSELF!

express-yourself

…out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

  (Matthew 12:34, 35)

…but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—  (Ephesians 4:15)

1.       Today I will live in the now!  I will live in the now because there is a miracle in my mouth that is ready to be manifested as I move through this day, motivated by the momentum that comes from magnifying the Lord!  Out of the heart are the issues of life and, through my words today, I will release God-life into the earth.

2.       Today I will tell the truth about myself, meticulously dispelling the myths of mediocrity that  I have manufactured in my mind and finding a victorious voice for the verification of my true value as a viable visionary!

3.       Today I will make my words work for me.  “But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.  For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me.  And I say to this one, ‘Go’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this’ and he does it” (Matthew 8:8, 9).

4.       Today I will not deny my feelings, but I will communicate them to others.  Because I am secure with my sense of adequacy, I can recognize, acknowledge and share my true experiences and emotions.

5.       Today I will speak up when something happens that annoys or frustrates me.  As Jesus commanded, I will go directly to the person involved.  I won’t allow negative reactions to collect, fester and grow.  I will speak up and release my anger, when necessary.  By speaking the truth in love, I will be able to maintain fellowship and friendships and still be able to discuss and dispel grievances.

6.       Today I will release my faith by the words of my mouth, believing that what I say with my mouth—and believe with my heart—will come to pass.  This mountain before me will be cast into the sea!

7.       Today I will let no corrupt word proceed out of my mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers (Ephesians 4:29).  Life is in the power of the tongue, so today I will communicate like the true conqueror that I am, expressing myself to God and to the people around me.  My words will put me over in all the affairs of life today: living truly, speaking truly, finding victory through vocabulary.  Today I will win this round of the game of life, and today I will live in the now!

Father, grant me the courage to effectively express myself today.

In Jesus’ name, amen.
