upside down world

“I’ve come to change everything, turn everything rightside up
— how I long for it to be finished!”

(Luke 12:50 – The Message)

1. Today I will live in the now! I will live in the now because Jesus, the King, is reigning in and with and through me, changing me from the inside out – in my mind, in my heart, and in my faith – so that I can change the world around me, and make it a better place in which to live for future generations. I am changing my mind today – learning to think in a new way – so that I can enter the Kingdom, and bring necessary revolution through the revelation of repentance from my present reality into the realm of righteous rebirth! There is a new world coming, and Christ is already reigning from there.

2. Today I will disassociate myself from demonic strongholds that are resistant to authority and to change. I will do what I can to expose the death that is religion.

3. Today I will make room for the new thing that God is doing in my interior world. I will throw out the non-essential numbers that usually define me, including age, weight, and height, and will adopt a new way of seeing myself (then we shall know even as also we are known – I Corinthians 13:12). A new definition of my personhood is being written on my heart and in my imagination. The Kingdom within is causing changes without, and is creating within me a vision for real revolution!

4. Today I will preserve what is good in my world, and will change what needs improvement. If what needs to be changed is beyond my ability to improve it, I will get help, knowing that revolution requires a responsible team effort.

5. Today I will embrace the excitement and adventure of transition, even the frightening kind, knowing that life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away! The violent take the Kingdom by force, and today I will welcome the shaking of God in my life, not fearing the violence around me. In all these things I am more than a conqueror through Him Who loves me!

6. Today I will overcome the seduction of staying with the familiar and the temptation to let tradition go unchallenged and unchecked. I will outgrow my comfort zone today, and will move into the next chapter of the book of my life, knowing that the ending of the story will be a portrayal of my personal triumph!

7. Today I will run with the vision that is written on my heart by Jesus, the Revolutionary, and I will be changed for the better because of it. Today is the day for my miracle, and today I will live in the now!

Father, let Your Kingdom come, and revolutionize my life today! In Jesus’ name, amen.

“Instead of bronze I will bring gold, instead of iron I will bring silver,

instead of wood, bronze, and instead of stones, iron.” (Isaiah 60:17)

1. Today I will live in the now! I will live in the now because I understand that excellence is an attitude – a state of mind that gradually becomes a lifestyle, and I am developing that lifestyle daily. I know that excellence exists, and that successful people live it, so I will not be destroyed by a lack of knowledge in this area. I have seen it in others, and now I will see it work for me!

2. Today I will not be lazy, and just assume that excellence will be a natural development in my life, but I will work hard to maintain a high standard for myself, and will walk in the required diligence to achieve my goals.

3. Today I will not give in to feelings of unworthiness that would prevent me from expecting the best of myself. I will believe that I deserve to live an excellent life, and will retrain my mind away from lies that I have believed that have damaged my self-esteem.

4. Today I will not be satisfied with “good” or “good enough.” God has called me to greatness in my area, so I will be faithful to hone my skills for the development of excellence, and I will do it to be a blessing to the Kingdom.

5. Today I will rid myself of any fear of success that I may still have, realizing that the continued pursuit of excellence ultimately brings undeniable success – and with that success comes added responsibility. But I am preparing myself to take on more, enlarging my capacity for faith and productivity, and, when opportunity knocks, I’ll be standing at the door, ready to open it!

6. Today I will not feel like I am an imposter, not living my real, deserved life. I am blessed because God is good, and I am successful because He has allowed me to work His system in the earth for my own benefit, as well as for His. I am not afraid that success will tell on me, revealing that I can’t make the grade. On the contrary, with every level of promotion, I will easily rise to the occasion.

7. Today I will see the big picture of my success, increasing in excellence incrementally, patiently progressing and possessing the higher standard of living that I deserve. Today I will give it all I’ve got, and today I will live in the now!

May 22: WALK TALL!

Walk Tall

“Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of Glory shall come in.” (Psalm 24:7)

1. Today I will live in the now! I will live in the now because I know that I am a gate for God to use to gain access into this world, an everlasting door for His passage. Therefore, I will lift up my head today and be somebody! As a gate/door who holds the Keys of the Kingdom that is within me, my demeanor will display my desire to take dominion and my attitude will accentuate my ability to accept authority.

2. Today I will let the King of Glory come in to control my current circumstances. I will be His dwelling place today – His Garden of Eden – where He can find fellowship. Because He is with me, even during trying circumstances or tragedies, I will walk tall enough to dig out the positives, and summon the courage to take the next step and make things better.

3. Today I will assume accountability in acting as His gate and door by busying myself, turning dark situations around toward the Light. I will realize that, as a holder of the Keys, the Kingdom’s advancement is my responsibility, and will act accordingly.

4. Today I will pack my schedule with positives, refusing to waste my time agonizing about yesterday — or speculating about tomorrow. Instead, I will broadcast the excellence in which I am walking today. I will speak up and declare my righteousness in Christ, portraying myself in the most self-enhancing manner possible!

5. Today I will make the decision to be happy with my life as it is, while maintaining motivation to improve it. I will keep talking myself into my future, even if I don’t fully believe what I’m saying, yet. My conversation will be peppered with prophetic purpose and proactive prayer as I use my ability to affect significant change!

6. Today I will walk tall in my dreams – initiating creativity and activating the faith that will transcend impossibilities. I will walk out of smallness, as I put my past in perspective and point myself toward greater purpose. My progressively victorious life will provide a speaking platform for God, as I plainly personalize the power of His gospel before the public!

7. Today I will walk tall enough to overcome obstacles, knowing that “He who overcomes shall inherit all things” (Revelation 21:7)! I will leave a legacy for the next generation by setting an example of greatness. Today I will dare to believe that I can be at my very best so that the King may enter the environment, and today I will live in the now!

Father, help me to walk tall today. In Jesus’ name, amen.

April 15: FIND FAVOR!

Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck,

write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem

in the sight of God and man.

(Proverb 3:3, 4)

1.       Today I will live in the now!  I will live in the now because I expect to receive supernatural favor from God and man today.  My promotion in the now will come from the Lord (“For exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south.  But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another” – Psalm 75:6, 7), and I will conduct myself with the confidence that comes from the consciousness that He is in my corner!

2.       Today I will be competitive only with myself, striving for my own, personal best, without comparing myself to others.  I will be inspired by those who are successful—not intimidated by them—knowing that my success is unique to me and that I can do what no one else can do by being true to my own individuality.

3.       Today I will humble myself in the sight of the Lord, that He may lift me up (James 4:10), giving God the glory and my gratitude for His guidance and grace!  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, and I am gaining more strength as I honor Him and give Him the credit due Him.

4.       Today I will let the Lord prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies, knowing that He will anoint me with the oil of joy above my contemporaries.  He will vindicate me and set me in a large place as I trust Him.  My latter will be greater than my former!

5.       Today I will recognize the flow that comes from godly favor.  I will only go where I am celebrated—not where I am tolerated.  My gift will make room for me today and will bring me before great men (Proverb 18:16).

6.       Today I will accept affirmation (valid compliments) from authentic admirers without argument.  I will receive gifts, knowing that I have given to others.  I will embrace promotion, and the added responsibility that it brings me, without any fear.  I will renounce any bogus feelings of unworthiness, knowing that He has made me worthy and righteous and acceptable in His sight!

7.       Today I will walk in the boldness that comes from having God’s favor on my life.  I will expect good things to happen to me today, because the Lord is good and His mercy endures forever.  Today I know that I have an edge, and today I will live in then now!

Father, I thank You that I find favor for my life today.  In Jesus’ name, amen.

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)

1. Today I will live in the now! I will live in the now because I am a real person, experiencing the real God in the real world. I will live truthfully today, understanding the difference between walking by faith instead of by sight, and living in denial of reality. Today I will reconcile my preparation for the worst case, with my expectation of the best case in every situation that arises.

2. Today I will be sober without being sullen – mature, but not morose – levelheaded, yet lighthearted at the same time! Harmony, balance and a genuine sense of serenity will display the peace that passes understanding through my life. The peace of God makes me shockproof today, so that, come what may, I am calm, cool, and collected in every circumstance.

3. Today I will not waste my time trying to be someone or something that I am not. The people in my life will have an authentic sense of trust in me, because my self-truth will give them permission to be who they really are, and to like who they really are.

4. Today I will embrace the inevitable. If I can’t change it, I will adapt to it, and will live freely and peaceably, choosing to go with the flow, accepting life as it really is. Today I choose truth-inspired tranquility, and welcome honesty-induced happiness. Parting with illusions will bring great relief to my soul, as I live the liberated life with godly contentment.

5. Today I will tell the truth, plain and simple. My stories will need no embellishment, my memories will remain intact, my ambitions will be realistic. I will see life the way that it is, and call it as I see it. Whatever is built on a lie in my world will fall, because it should fall, and I will have no fear today, because the Lord is my shepherd, and I do not lack or want for anything.

6. Today I will not get involved with the silly games that people play when trying to relate to one another. I will let my “yes” be “yes,” and my “no” be “no,” providing a safe haven for those, like me, who seek the truth in the world. I will move on from those who refuse to live in authenticity.

7. Today I will get a grip on reality. I will not fear telling the truth, or hearing the truth, taking both praise and criticism in stride. Today I will enjoy the effect of speaking the truth in love, even to myself, and today I will live in the now!

Father, help me to live truthfully today. In Jesus’ name, amen.

“Jesus said, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others AS WELL AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF.’ These two commands are pegs; everything in God’s Law and the Prophets hangs from them.” (Matthew 22:37-40 – The Message)”. . . he who loves his wife LOVES HIMSELF. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.” (Ephesians 5:28, 29)

1. Today I will live in the now! I will live in the now, because the power of God’s unconditional love allows and enables me to live my life in the present. Because I am accepted in the Beloved, I can give myself permission to love myself as I am now, knowing that I am improving by continually being conformed to His image.

2. Today I will love myself without being conceited, arrogant, puffed up with pride, or condescending. I will not feel inferior to anyone else, nor will I feel superior to anyone else, but will be balanced and mature in the way that I relate to everyone around me.

3. Today I will love myself, and still maintain a mindset of servitude and humility. I will selflessly consider the needs of others by taking up my cross to follow Jesus.

4. Today I will forgive myself for the ways in which I have disappointed myself. I will stop being angry with myself, and punishing myself for my mistakes, having the same patience with myself that God has with me.

5. Today I will speak well of myself, building a healthy self-esteem with verbal building blocks. I will not sin against my own potential by speaking self-destructive words, but will say about my life what God says about it, because I am in agreement with His word.

6. Today I will be good and kind to myself. I will not feel guilty for doing something nice just for me, with no obligation to any bogus, religious ideas of my own unworthiness.

7. Today I will walk in the God kind of love with the people in my life, and will be a blessing to them. They will see Jesus in me today, and today I will live in the now!

Father, give me the courage to love myself today. In Jesus’ name, amen.

“Therefore . . . work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do
for His good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:12, 13)

1. Today I will live in the now! I will live in the now because I have the courage to accept the responsibility of taking ownership of my unique and personal salvation, and I will move toward that goal today. I will MIND MY OWN BUSINESS, knowing that I can only legitimately compare myself to Jesus, and to no one else – striving to remove the plank from my eye, instead of attempting to remove the splinter from my brother’s.

2. Today I will MOVE AY MY OWN PACE. My “work-out” requires that I flow with my own times and seasons, and allow others the liberty to do the same. Jesus has done what only He can do concerning my salvation, but today I will move in Him toward becoming the best version of me that I can be, as my life in Christ issues from the inside out.

3. Today I will MAKE MY OWN HAPPINESS. I will not wait for external things to improve my feelings, but will take the initiative to activate the joy that is already in my heart through the Holy Spirit. As David did, I will encourage myself in the Lord today!

4. Today I will MINIMIZE MY OWN STRESS. Working out my own salvation means that it is up to me to “let not my heart be troubled.” No matter what happens today, I make the choice to walk in peace. Accepting the fact that I can’t control what others do or say to me, I exercise my ability to control how I let what they do or say affect me.

5. Today I will MEASURE MY OWN PROGRESS. Whatever strides I make toward success in God today will only be done to please Him, and for my own satisfaction. I will work OUT what God has done IN me, regardless of the praise or criticism of others.

6. Today I will MANAGE MY OWN PERSONALITY. He who rules his spirit is greater than he who takes a city (Proverbs 16:32). I will celebrate and accentuate my strengths, with full acceptance and understanding of my limitations.

7. Today I will MANIFEST MY TRUE SELF, being who God made me – not who everyone else thinks I am, or should be. The process of working out my own salvation is a joint effort with the Author and Finisher of my faith, and I trust Him to do what I cannot do for myself. Today He and I together will produce the synergy necessary to accomplish His will for my life, and today I will live in the now!

Father, help me to work out my own salvation with godly fear today. In Jesus’ name, amen.

February 8: BE SOMEBODY!

“In a word, what I’m saying is, Grow up. You’re Kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.”

(Matthew 5:48 – The Message)

1. Today I will live in the now! I will live in the now because I am fearfully and wonderfully made – I am His workmanship – I am the righteousness of God in Christ – I am the head and not the tail, above only, and not beneath – I am bought with a price – I am somebody!

2. Today I will refuse to believe anything about myself that is contrary to what God believes about me. I will not regard any word spoken about me that does not confirm what God says about me. I will agree with God and His will for my life, even if it seems illogical and impractical to do so.

3. Today I will carry myself in a way that demonstrates my godly self-confidence. I will speak well of myself without bragging or being offensive to others. I will show that I believe in myself, without thinking more highly of myself than I ought to think. I will love my neighbor as I love myself today.

4. Today I will not waste my time on unimportant and trivial things – the “beggarly elements of the world.” I will forsake the temptation to give in to silly pettiness, and will pursue great ideas and noble thoughts. I will conduct my affairs with a flair for grandeur and loftiness, without becoming pretentious and out of touch with reality. Today I will feel neither superior nor inferior to anyone else.

5. Today I will remember that I am who God says that I am – I have what God says that I have – and I can do what God says that I can do!

6. Today I will walk like a winner, and lose my loser mentality. I am a champion – a king – an overcomer. I have favor, creativity, confidence, the Mind of Christ, prosperity, success, supernatural ability, and uncommon favor. Anything can happen today, and my expectation of faith will attract the positive to my life. If God is for me, who can be against me?! No matter what others have said to me or about me – no matter what I have said about myself – today is a new day of self-realization for me.

7. Today I am somebody, and today I will live in the now!

Father, help me to remember today that You have enabled me to be somebody! In Jesus’ name, amen.
